One can read sometimes on the almost miraculous impact a leader can have on the team’s or organization’s performance. Of course things are more complex than a simple–and hence wrong–idea that it all depends on the personal traits, beginning with charisma. Rather, the key is to understand the leadership process, how a leader shapes and acts on the environment and not on the individuals so that the latter can act by themselves.
