Capitalism relies on the freedom of companies to conduct their businesses free from intervention and on the freedom of customers to choose products and services without interference. Laissez-faire literally means “leave-to-do”, yet in Freedom, Inc. Brian Carney and Isaac Getz argue that businesses do not afford such freedoms internally to their own staff.
